Spring shackle torque

Managed to notice that my spring hanger shackle was about to fail and am in the process of replacing all shackles and bolts. Does anyone know the recommended torque for the shackle bolts which are the 3 inch long, 9/16” dia. with 7/16-20 thread on the end. Could use the standard torque for the 7/16-20 thread from a torque chart but the manufacturer may suggest otherwise. Thanks!

I would use the standard torque chart. If the nuts are not nylocks then use blue thread locker.

MORryde in their wet bolt kit says 50 lb ft for the bots. I do hope you are using wet bolts as the original style thin ones will just fail again

Am going with the regular non-wet bolts as it took 10 years for this to fail and will be keeping a closer eye on this set. The RV shop had the regular 9/16” straight bolts not shoulder style so I believe you just tighten them down to snug with the locking nuts as too tight will bind up the whole assembly. The shoulder bolts could have been tightened down to a specific number as the step from 7/16 thread to 9/16 shoulder would have provided a stop?
