Direct tv with genie

What portable satellite antenna is everyone using with the direct tv genie? All I can find that will work is a tripod style[emoji53].

I use this:
http://www.amazon.com/Winegard-Carry.../dp/B001TIS3K6

I bought mine back in 2008, plug in the 12V and it automatically searches and locks on to satellite.

I have the Genie in my LR, but when I go on a RV trip I take the companion unit in my BR. I think it's the model 24. While in MT last month I went into a RV dealer and managed to buy the Direct TV Kings Quest for $422.00 when everyone else has it for Five hundred or more. After buying it, I had another dealer tell me that he would have sold me one for $380.00. So, look around before you buy.

I love mine works every time, sometimes because of the trees in some parks I have to set it on the roof like I have it now. Works great again. When I go home, I put the receiver back in the BR until next time.

I use the tripod. The mini tailgate dishes won't do HD. I think that's why they say it won't work with genie. It will work probably won't get HD is all. I set my tripod dish up in about 10 minutes. I have the Genie and one mini for the bedroom. Plus I run a double HDMI out to the TV outside.

I have Direct TV and I used to use the Little HD-25 Reciever with my tripod SWIM dish. It all worked great. When we went to Genie receivers I could not use 1 of them in my RV because it connects WIFI to my Main DVR. I had to buy(rent they say) a HD-25 off ebay ($89) Now it works great again. I just set up my Deer Lease as vacation home and call Direct when I arrive and they change my programming on the fly to get local channels ( San Antonio area channels)
