New to me camper

I take ownership of my first camper tomorrow. I was told it was a 2006 by the owner, but after a email to Keystone with the vin number I found out it's a 2005 sprinter 294 fwdbsla. Does anyone else have this model? Is there anything I should look out for? My family is so excited to start camping even if it is late in the season.

I do not own that camper but do own a newer Sprinter and have had great luck with it.

I would recomend going through the checklist on here and enjoy camping, great for making memories.

A PDI checklist is here: http://www.keystonerv.org/forums/showthread.php?t=5129

A "Things for Campers" checklist is here: http://keystonerv.org/forums/showthread.php?t=9915

Search is your friend, it's located in the dark blue bar at the top of every webpage.

Years ago we owned a Shasta that we purchased when it was about 6 years old. All the kinks had been worked out, and that trailer lasted us 22 years. A young family purchased it from us, and they're still using it and that was 6 years ago! Hope your pre-loved gives you the kind of service ours did.

Used is BEST

As stated, most if not all of the kinks should have been worked out. Welcome to the camping family. You will find that we campers are the friendliest group around.

One thing I'd check is your spring and shackle bushings. The original ones seem to wear quickly and could then pose problems.

Not on the checklist but..

How are the tires?
Have they been replaced?
More importantly how were they cared for?
As this is a 2006 model, the original tires are at (beyond) their service limit, the might not look worn out but time does adversely affect them.
