Lighting in cooking area?

We have a 2011 Montana High Country; and the lighting in the cooking area is not adequate to say the least. The existing lights just cast shadows.

What have you done to improve the lighting in the cooking area around the stove?

I am in the process of changing out the lousy incandescent to LED. MUCH brighter, less energy used and zero heat.

You can get retrofit bulbs keeping your current fixtures, or replace the whole thing. The ones I am getting allow for 1 side or both for more flexability.

We do all of our cooking outside on the Camp chef. The stove cover never gets removed, it basically is counter space. So to answer your question, I wait for the sun to come out for more cooking light.

We do too, but its not always possible. Prep and cleanup are easier in better light.

We have a light in the hood over the stove that shines on the burners plus a light over the counter and sink that we use if we were to cook inside.

I cut the old light fixture out and tied in 2 super bright LEDs. Plenty of light now.
