Retract Landing Gear

How do you manualy retract the front landing gear on a Cougar 5th wheel? I use a remote control and the battery went bad leaving me stranded till I got a new battery. I have a 2011 291RLS.

Open the propane tank access door on the driver's side. Behind the tank and inline with the landing gear drive motor axle, you should find a cut out. This cut out will provide access to the drive which raises and lowers the landing gear.

There should also be a long handled crank (much like that used to raise and lower the rear stabilizers) with a round end that is slotted. Insert the crank into the opening and turn in the appropriate direction. It is slow going and requires some effort.

Keep in mind that our two Cougars differ but I believe the manual landing gear process is much the same.

Let us know if what I have described will work for you.

wdone1, Howdy;

Is there not a manual switch somewhere near the front storage
compartment on the driver's side?
