Pins #1 and #7 send a 12 vdc signal to the dual polarity extend/retract terminals to operate the hud pump motor CW or CCW..
There should never be anywhere near 5 amps current draw on either extend or retract signal terminals on the solenoid..
If so then either the solenoid internal contacts are burnt or the wires to the solenoid are loose.l
Yes.. the pump motor itself draws north of 70 amps when it first spins up.. this has nothing to do with the signal sent to the solenoid
