Inside speaker questions

I have a Cougar 280 RLS. When I play my stereo, I get sound from all 4 speakers in the living area. When I play a DVD, I only get sound from 2 speakers. Any suggestions as to what is wrong?

On many Cougars the 4 speakers in the main cabin are all wired to the "A" speaker switch. If that's your situation, then you'd need to adjust the balance for L/R speaker function and the fade for front/rear speaker function. Those adjustments are in your setup menu for the stereo system.

If your speakers are wired to the "A" and "B" switches, then be sure the adjustments for them are set up properly. On some (not all) of the various brand stereo systems, there are different settings required for each function. In other words, settings for the FM Stereo function won't follow to the DVD or AUX function, each must be "set" individually.

I'll bet John is right. Look at your sound system manual. I have to pull mine every trip and reset it because it does stuff similar to your problem and I'm not smart enough to remember all the steps from one trip to the next; unduly complicated IMO.

We have a similar problem in our 2016 26RBI, the dealer said it was a bad part in the dvd/stereo system, so they replaced the unit. Once we go the trailer back, the speakers worked fine inside and out, except the dvd's would not go into the unit to play. I called the dealer and they informed me that there are two shipping screw on the top of the unit that probably didn't get removed, and for us to bring the trailer back and they would fix it. I removed the unit myself and removed the screws they should have. All is working fine now.
