A different kind of question
We are in the process of buying a hideout 31rbds. My question isn't on the camper itself but rather an option I was given. They offered to deliver to my permanent site for 300 bucks which includes mobile warranty service. They come fix on my lot if they can of not they do the transporting back and forth. I'm only about 60 miles from dealer but also only have a half ton. I don't mind pulling it one way but how common is warranty work on these? If it goes back to the dealer once maybe not worth it but twice and it's worth it in my book. I don't have a lot of spare time to be driving back and forth. Plus the camper really is 3/4 ton material if I am pulling it often.

I don't think $300 is a bad price. If you consider the dealer has to make a total of 240 mi. trip to bring your trailer to the shop and return it. This should be incentive for them to inspect everything and correct any problems before delivery. Since you will not be towing it for the warranty period you should closely inspect it too. That's what I'm thinking. I have a walk through scheduled regardless of who pulls it I will be inspecting. I have the checklist in hand!

Make sure you ask how many "trips" your $300 buys. Even if it's just a delivery and one round trip for warranty work, I think your doing good.

I charge $1.25 per mile to tow a Boat from Elkhart, IN. for a local dealer round trip. So a tow to your campground would be $150.00. Sounds like a good deal to me.

Just drop off. And it is 2 trips first year and 2 trips annually if I would get extended warranty which I don't plan to. So basically just for first year would cover 2 trips in my case. I'm not sure what to do.

That sounds like a great deal to me. Here's how I would approach it:
Let them deliver, and unless an issue causes a "can't use" scenario, keep a list. Then let them come get it for a fix of everything on your list.
IF the dealer does a proper PDI prior to delivery and you do a FULL inspection, there shouldn't be any issues unless something breaks.

Yep, I agree, sounds like a fair deal to both parties. I happen to live less then a mile from my dealer (doesn't hurt that the service writer is a personal friend), all work has been done at my house. Much better then hooking and hauling.
