I have been thinking of moving up myself the next couple years to a Montana or HC. Based on what I have researched so far, with the HC is the gvwr. It appears that these units aee built on light frames and axles, thus limiting the payloads to ridiculously low amounts (cargo).
For instance, my Sydney 340fbh has 5200 lb axles giving me a cargo rating of 1800 lbs including what is in the tanks. I ran mine across the scales loaded for a week of camping and had only 100 lbs left before exceeding the gvwr with empty tanks. I am not happy with this.
In my opinion, any rv over 10k dry weight should be equippedwith 6000 lb axles . The HC I looked at recently had 5200 lb axles. This is worth looking into before you make the plunge.
