Anyone tie the two fuel tanks together on a 300MP?

I would like to tie my two on board fuel tanks together with some sort of valve so I can empty the fuel in my generator tank if I feel the need. Ideally, I would like to switch a valve and be able to use the fuel through my fueling station. Has anyone done somthing like this?

I would even hire a professional to do this for me if I knew where to take it.

Thanks, Chris

There must be a way, my dads 75 ford truck has dual tanks from the factory with a switch on the dash to switch tanks on the fly. I would think you would put a hose in each tank to the fuel pump and be able to switch the tank it sucks from. Or just put in a equalizing tube like some big rigs have to make the 2 tanks tied together so it is like having one tank.

I can't see why this couldn't be done. But I have another question regarding the fuel tanks. I have the 2012 model, and my tank for the fuel pump (not the generator) will pop and bang with pressure. It sounds like a bomb going off and will scare you to death. Also, when you loosen the gas cap on that side it has extreme pressure on it.

Are you having this issue also?

Is it a vented tank ? Maybe the cap is not working.
Also check your vent/tank breather hoses.

In all honesty I can't answer that question. There are 2 30 gallon tanks on my unit, one for generator, and one for the fuel station. The one for the generator has no issues, it's only the one for the fuel station.

We have thought of the cap, and I have even left it loose to help relieve some pressure. I don't know where any of the hoses are underneath as I have not seen any.

I do know that if the cap is loose it doesn't get as good of a prime on the fuel pump, acting like its out. But when it's tight, it picks it up.

I am not having any problems like that. Maybe try switching caps and see if the problem follows the cap.
