Manual activation of slides

I am having difficulty finding how to manually move my slides in or out (should my batteries fail). I have a 2008 Cougar 289BHS with two slides.

We have an '08 Cougar so the manual operation might be a bit different. On ours, there is a small access "door" found on the underbelly of the unit. It is located about 1 ft ahead of the front passenger-side tire and approximately 2 ft from the side. The "door" is a cut-out flap in the plastic coroplast held in place by a plastic tie.
If you open the flap, you will see the end of the drive mechanism and the motor. There is a 3/4 inch nut at the end which, when turned with a ratchet, will move the slide in or out. As a caution, you will need to disconnect the wires to the motor when manually operating the slide. If you don't, you may cause damage to the motor.
I have only the one slide (kitchen table/chairs & LR couch).
As I said, your set-up may be different and hopefully someone with the identical model will chime in with more accurate information.

manual slide operation

Festus2, thank you very much. I did look under the trailer and saw two square patches, one with zap straps and one with tape. So they will very likely be what you said. They are right in line with the gear/rod that will do the retracting.
Thanks again.
