How to check ac filter on keystone hideout 176bh

For the life of me I can’t get cover to check filter. Has no tabs or anything? Also, is there a way to make fan turn off when ac compressor turns off? The fan stays on when compressor turns off so it’s always on making noise. Thank you. Best pictures I could get. As you can see I think thermostat is only for furnace.

I can’t see the filter well enough in your photo to answer your first question. It’s been too long since I’ve looked at one of those models to remember. As for your fan, should be an auto setting. If you have it set on lo or hi it will run constantly. If it’s set to auto, it’ll shut off when not needed

A picture taken directly under looking up at the A/C unit would help. Controls appear to be on the unit so the the thermostate would be built into the unit not on the wall. The make and model number of the unit would help. The trailer if new should come with a packet of instruction manuals for everything.

It is hard to tell, but I think the filters will slide in on the sides. If your ceiling controls are the ones I’m thinking of, the dial goes:

Fan lo, fan hi, cool lo, cool hi. If so I’m not sure there is an option to turn off the fan. Make and model of AC would sure help.

I think the hideout is using the GE AC unit now. They just started that about a year and a half ago. I can’t remember what the controls are like on it. Hopefully the OP will provide more info so we can give an accurate answer. Or if I’m correct about the GE brand, maybe someone with more knowledge of those can jump in.

I can't tell by looking what you have but if a GE, which it appears it might be, try this link to the owner's manual and see if page 14 doesn't help.

Exactly what it says. So hearing the fan all night can be annoying

White noise, you get used to it. Only trouble is when you do, you almost need it. I got used to the Cooler blowing all night when I was in Afghanistan, now I sleep better with it than without. If it wasn’t for my DW, I’d have a fan on all night in the bedroom to help me sleep. Trust me, a fan blowing all night as a constant is better than one kicking on and off all night.

Ok I can see what you mean. We can deal with that but we really can’t figure out how to check filter. Can’t find it on google or YouTube. Was barely able to find any pictures of it

When I was in HS my parents put window A/C units in because my mother had bronchitis. When DW and I were married our first home had window shakers. I ended up installing central in both houses but was used to the noise. For the last 30+ years that I worked I traveled extensively and became used to the noise and sleep better with it.

In the camper I'd rather hear the noise constantly and keep the television sound at one level vs constantly changing it. The A/C unit will also distribute the air more evenly with the fan constantly running .

Bottom lower left and you can dowload the manuals.

Ok I got an actual picture. Even the picture in manual isn’t for my unit? Manual says push the clips inwards. As you can see I have no clips anywhere…

I can see the filter just under that left hand panel. How to get to it at this point is beyond me.

Looking at your photo, it seems there's a "pry mark" where I drew the yellow circle. Also, it looks like there may be a "plastic clip" that sits in a slot on the AC faceplate molded into the grill cover, just above where that circle is drawn with the red line pointing to the clip. Maybe some "gentle persuasion" with a knife blade in that area ???

That grate over the filter appears similar to a window A/C unit. Just pry where indicated and the grate will flex a bit and you can pull it down towards the center of the A/C unit and then there will be tabs on the other side and you can just pull the tabs out of slots.

I see the "clips" John pointed to but blowing up the picture I think I see those around the perimeter of the filter media. I think they may be holding the filter and not the grill. I would GENTLY pull the grill slot while prying the grill with a butter knife or plastic trim removal tool if you have one.

Looks like the grill grate over the filter needs a small screwdriver to wedge the grate on the sides and let them pop up over the edges. You can see the bowed edge of the filter inside/under the grate, you just have to wedge with the little screwdriver then pop that cover out of there it appears to me.
