Anyone traveling through or live in Greensboro NC or Salisbury NC, we are finishing two 7-Elevens and each will have a Cat Scale. Greensboro opens mid October and Salisbury opens mid November. Safe travels.

7-eleven with a scale?
We have a 7-eleven under construction in Liberty and it seems massive compared to what I knew as a corner convenience store.

They are in the Diesel market for sure. Not full blown truck stops by far but we are putting high speed diesel, DEF at the pump and scales at a few. Some have restaurants inside also, Laredo Taco or Roost Chicken.
Liberty? What state?

Where is it going in Greensboro? We have a trip to Asheville in November and that’s a good fuel stopping area.
I know there are a couple in Mebane/Burlington area too.

Trying, in their own way, keep up with Bucee's! Not a chance!
In Amarillo they built a new type of Toot N Totem, similar to 7-11s, with truck lanes w/ DEF, several gas pumps & a lone separate DEF pump which was great for my GMC with the fill port under the hood. IMO all stations should have the separate DEF pump so not to bog up truck lanes while filling with DEF only.

They are primarily built for truckers. You think all the DEF dispensers should be separate from the diesel dispensers?

I meant that DEF only pump is NOT in the truck lanes but off the side of the parking lot completely separate from gas or diesel pumps.
The DEF pumps in the truck lanes were a PITA to use on my GMC due to the fill port on the passenger side under the hood, hoses weren't long enough to reach, that separate pump was great.

Gotcha. That makes sense. Good to hear user reviews.
On another note, why would GM put the DEF fill port under the hood versus at the fuel tank fill?

Even GM wondered why they did that, so a couple years ago they swapped to the usual place.

Don't know why GM put it there, but its a PITA to get the DEF poured into the tank.

I think I read it had to do with the placement of the def tank on the outside of the frame rail on the passenger side… the filler tube would not be able to route around the frame and the fuel tank was in the way even if it could …probably because they added the def tank to an existing design….I believe the newer trucks are redesigned…I honestly think all of the big three have decent trucks now

I was told by the service manager at my GM dealer it was to prevent accidentally pouring DEF into the fuel tank, which made perfect sense.

That's the same as I was told and have read several places. GM, apparently, early in the DEF introduction "thought" owners would have issues with putting diesel in the DEF tank or DEF in the diesel tank. So they put the DEF fill in a separate location. Under the hood, like the oil fill and antifreeze fill "made sense" to them, so designed it there.
Over the first few years, the other two manufacturers didn't have "that many problems" with owners mixing up what goes where, so GM elected, in the new design, to relocate it so their trucks are "similar in operation and maintenance" with the other two.

Sunday night we headed out of town to get eat dinner. There is a relatively new Sunoco on the edge of town, been there maybe 2 years. Convenience store, gas pumps, and truck pumps behind it. Driving past it I noticed it had a new Seven 11 sign on it.
Apparently 7/11 has a new business model.
We are covered up with FuelMaxx stations. Most are Chevron.
My latest pet peive is trying to shop at American owned businesses. I swore off the local Shell stations when the Millers sold to a "alphabet" name. Then the Heberts sold their local Chevron distribution company and stations. That left me with a Texas grocery chain that sold Conoco. So I bought a lot of that. Now they dropped Conoco and sell generic. Nope, I'm not buying that. I guess last man standing is WalMart.
I worked for Shell for 40 years and am mad at them for selling the Deer Park refinery to PEMEX and selling off their Permian oilfield.
OK, off my soapbox. The hurricane has about blown over...

That is correct.
7-11 bought out Speedway and I had heard they were working towards Sunoco.
I’ve only been in the fuel game for a couple years so I’m still learning the games they play.
Sounds like Speedway bought out Hess several years back and now they’re selling to 7-11. Nature of the beast I guess.

The thing is that regardless whose name may be on the signs the fuel in their tanks most likely comes from the same source as it always has.
