Welcome to the forum
Best battery depends on what your looking for. If your going to use hook ups all the time, any 12V battery will do. If your asking what brand is best, it’s like asking which brand of tow vehicle is best. You want a true deep cycle battery with the most Amp hours, cold cranking amps don’t count and shouldn’t even be listed on a true deep cycle.

Hi Chuckster57

Thank you for the welcome message and for the battery information.

I will probably go to where there are hook ups for now but based on what I've read it wouldn't hurt to get a good true deep cycle battery.

For rv use you don't want anything BUT "a good true deep cycle battery"!
Odds are if it says "marine" on it it's most likely be battery for boat motor starting & trolling with CCA listed on the top, not what you want or need.
If you have 2 batteries be sure to replace both at the same time with matching batteries. Never pair a new with an old, the old will canabalize the new.

Welcome for the mountain west!
We just replaced our 4 season old 12v batteries. Upgraded to the two 6v configuration. Much better!! Same cost as two 12v plus the 6v golf cart batteries are made for many more charge cycles than the 12v models.
