Then it is extremely unlikely the problem is caused by a surge or any other electrical problem. If it was me I would weigh the expense of a mobile tech who is HVAC certified making the diagnosis at a cost of roughly $200 (that's what a simple call out costs here, YMMV) vs buying a new one. Even better might be working a deal with a local RV parts and service shop of no charge for the diagnosis if it is bad on promise of buying the new unit from them. That way you only pay once at least.

Update.
Airxcel has agreed to warranty the ac! They cant get one of their sponsored techs to come to me either! The 3 I talked to wouldnt travel 20 miles to me!
He did say he would ship to me or I could find another tech that would work with them on the warranty. Found one. Now waiting to get it scheduled. This sure might turn out good!
Coleman’s customer service has been spectacular so far fyi.

Glad to hear that it's worked out well (so far)… Hopefully it will continue through with a "successful warranty exchange"...

get with the manufactuer of the a/c...it should be covered. just use your trailer purchase date.

when you get into the a/c, if you aren't a mechanic get with a service center.

Yea, the mfg has been great to work with. At the very least, they already said they will ship one to me under warranty...no return required.
I am a mech, but would prefer someone else carry 90 lbs up onto my trailer! It is a simple install for sure, but I aint no fool either!

Wahoo! Shipping a new unit under warranty today to the mobile RV mech I found that agreed to work with them. Should be up and running by early next week so my forward ac doesnt have to run continuously!
So happy.

That's great news... Once the tech replaces the A/C, if he has any ideas what might have caused the issues and if he finds more problems with the old unit, please let us know what he found/suspected... Inquiring minds want to know... LOL

Ok, the outcome.
I found a local mobile mechanic in the Orlando area that agreed to work with Coleman, Happy Campers. They were great. Coleman shipped the new Mach 15 to them. They received it Monday and just finished installing it today. Coleman agreed to pay 1.5 hours to replace, and Happy Camper charges 2. I agreed to pay the $57.50 diff.
Works perfectly again. The installer told me that he has replaced about 2 of these Colemans per week this season which he thought was odd. He said usually he sees issues with Dometics. Maybe a rash of bad units or something?
Thank you for all for helping and advising about the 2 year warranty... I would never have thought of that.
I do highly recommend Happy Campers if you need service in central FL.

Troy - I'm 40 miles due east of you (Cocoa). Glad you got this replaced. Our Dometic 13.5 just burned itself up over the long weekend. I'm just starting the process of getting things situated with a local service center (non-CW). They are very suspect of a voltage issue but I use an EMS so this repair will be dicey at best to get Dometic to repalce it under warranty (it's 8 months old, maybe 40-50 hours of run time on it). They haven't seen it first hand yet, but from my details they are thinking poor voltage. This Service center says Dometic isn't shipping yet due to being closed down for Covid so we're in a holding pattern until he begins to see things roll in from the factory (they said a replacement has to come from the factory not from a supplier of his). ...and now we wait...

Well that sux Bill.
My guess is if you can show u have used an EMS, they should warranty it. Have u checked to see if there is any leakage from the condenser? That is what mine did. I bought a new run capacitor that ur welcome to if it is the same one...cant return, and my original one was good.
Not sure about Dometic, but my Coleman 15.0 was shipped from the factory very quickly. It turned out to be a very smooth operation thankfully.
Good luck to you.

Hey, thanks for the offer. Likely my cap is a different value, it’s a 13.5 unit compared to your 15. And the capacitor is likely ok. Mine literally burnt up at the compressor common terminal. Not much left of the female spade terminal. Lots of charred carbon plastic from the terminal cover. There is no refrigerant leak whatsoever, wish it was that cut and dry. I may be fighting an uphill battle. If I have to buy a new one, I may go with the Coleman Mach 10 NDQ (non-ducted quiet) model. A few hundred more but I understand much quieter even being non-ducted. And in a small TT I’ll take all the quiet I can get.
