Water pump bad on new passport??

Tested everything before our maiden voyage, the water pump was pulsing when water was turned off, then eventually worked as expected. (Off when off, on when water on..). Drained everything, then took it on maiden voyage to campground. When I got there, with full water tank, The pump would just run run run with no water coming out. Seems the pump hadn’t primed itself, I took off the water inlet hose and siphoned water up the hole and let it fill the pump, reconnected and it worked fine all weekend. Not something I want to do every time. Am I missing something, or is something broken??

I had a similar issue once. I had to have the faucets off so it would build pressure. Then once it had pressure it would function normally. Hope you get it figured out.
