Fuzion toy hauler pin weights

I am getting ready to order a toy hauler and after much looking and visiting shows, the xlr thunderbolt 340x12hp was the one...until I saw some new fusions. I need a 12 ft garage so am looking at 342 and 345. Looks like they stopped making the 342 maybe?

Regardless, can some of u post up your pin weights ready to camp? I have a 2014 ram 3500 megacab srw cummins with 4074 lbs payload...but the fuzions seem to have heavier pin weights than others. Now maybe that's because it comes with pretty much everything as standard and u don't have to add much (if anything). I will be hauling at least 1 full size quad and a kids quad in the garage. Later this year that might change to a rzr.

Looks like most of the 345's weight in around 13300 with 3000 on the pin according to their specs. So as to not go over payload on the truck, I gotta think 3300 pin is about max for me (me, wife and 4 and 7 year old boys in the cab). Thanks for any info you can give!

Ps. Does anyone know if the 345 with monster plus package comes in the grey gelcoat? All the 343's I see r white...the grey, blue and white looks sharp!

Just paying with numbers you have supplied 13,300 overall beginning weight yielding a 3000 pin weight gives you around 22.56 % pin weight. Using your target truck payload of 3,300 lbs. and assuming linear loading gets you around 14,630 lbs.total rig weight

14,630 -13,300=1,330 lbs. you can add.

Think I read posts on the forum that stated 1,200 on an average people add to their rigs for camping (clothes, food, etc.). 1,330-1,200 = 130 lbs. for say garage contents, etc. Your toys may exceed 130 lbs. Again these are talking numbers to see what range you are in. These toy haulers are pin heavy.

Obviously to get more realistic numbers as stated in many posts in this forum, need to go to scales with truck packed for camping and get actual weight numbers for the rig you are interested in.

Not an expert, this is my 2 cents to get a range

Fuzion toy hauler pin weights

I was playing with them some more and I think it is too heavy for me. Truck has been weighed and that is where I am coming up with 3300 or so max pin weight (4074 per the door). The family is 500lbs and I have a tonneau cover and then the DVD players, etc etc.

The xlr I built comes in around 12400 ready to camp (no stuff in it )and I'm thinking that might be as heavy as I can go when I factor in 1000lbs of stuff and at least 1200lbs of toys (for the times we do take the quads). 14600 without water should have me around 3200-3300 pin weight, but when I have the toys in back that will take some weight off the pin...maybe couple hundred lbs less? Sigh, that's too bad...I really like the 345 monster plus package too.

Maybe I should be like so many others and order it and be a thousand lbs over payload and slap some air bags on it and call it good?!?!?

What's your payload sticker on truck and on the 342?

All that stuff makes my head spin. The GVWR is11500. 5600 frt and 7050 rear GAWR. Payload not to exceed 3898. Trailer pin says 3030lbs empty but its not at my house to verify.

Never been across scales but plan to.

I do know when I hook up it does not touch the factory over load springs . To me that is an accurate method to determine it is within design limits. It handles and stops a lot better than the smaller and lighter 301 Fuzion TT I had previous.

Thanks for the info. My truck payload is 4074 and gvwr of 12300. Weights seem to be about the same in the 342 vs 345. I might be being a bit conservative on my estimates.

There is still a couple new 2015 342s at dealers in Va . One dealer does an excellent job of delivering right to your door. rv007.com

ha...I didnt even realize you were in Va also! Yes, I am always looking at RV007 for inventory and have spoken with them a few times. I havent made the trip yet, but it is not that far from Chesterfield so I need to do it. They have a 345 in stock that has the Monster Plus package, but the interior color is not what we would want, but they do get a lot of them in for sure.

Made it to the scales today.
Steering axle weight 4580 GAWR is 5600
Drive Axle weight 6660 GAWR is 7050
Trailer Axle weight 12080
Gross Weight 23320
All usual gear in trailer with full tank of water minus a couple of dirt bikes.

Re Weighed the truck only
Front 4820
Drive 3540
Gross 8360
So to answer the OP if my math is right the pin weight on my 342 is 3120 lbs and the trailer weight is 14,940 lbs

Fuzion toy hauler pin weights

Thanks ktmhauler. That is the information I was looking for. I have been seriously considering the 342 or 345 and it looks like they will work with my truck. Seems like the new fuzions have about everything I am looking for and I dig the new grey with blue color. Thanks for again for sharing your info! Time to chat with rv007 and visit ashland!

I know the owner in Danville (John) and he is a stand up guy. Having helped 2-3 people buy including family, I am convinced no one can beat his toy hauler pricing in Va/MD/NC/DC/TN..Heck you can go to Indiana and still not be his Keystone or Heartland pricing. Just was not in the cards for me as I was set on an Alpine and he does not carry and the Montana's were just higher than I wanted to spend. We got a good Fuzion dealer here in Chesapeake but RV Outlet easily beats them. I think McGeorges also carries Fuzions.

These were about my weights too with my 2013 Fuzion 342. I don't have my numbers in front of me from the scale, but I estimated my pin weight to be just shy of 3300 lbs. I was not carrying toys - which I think lessens the pin weight.

I also traveled from PA to Danville to buy my 342. I thought their walk-through was great - they did a great job of showing us around the camper. Got a great deal on my trade, good price on the used fusion, easy transaction. Because we're so far away, we haven't used them for follow up service so I can't speak to that, but I was happy with the sale.

Well, brought home the 345 chrome on Friday...I have already weighed the truck and will be hitting the scales on the way to the campground and will post up my weights to helpfully hope someone in the future. Thanks for the info and for sharing your weights...it helped me make the decision to grab the 345 for a great price. I did order some Timbrens but havent put them on yet..truck sagged about 4 inches when hitched up

Holy smokes that's gorgeous. I just checked my FZ371 last weekend. My weights were on the way home with 2 quads empty gas tanks on toyhauler but probably 100 gallons of waste water and all out stuff.

Truck Empty 9500
Truck weight with TH 13020
Truck with trailer 25750

So in summary:

Pin weight fully loaded 3500
Pin advertised dry wt. 3100
Trailer weight fully loaded 16200
Trailer advertised dry wt. 13500
