Gerton, NC - Creekside Mountain Camping

We are out in the mountains just below Asheville this weekend. The campground owners are really nice. The accommodations are very adequate. Full hookups, no cable TV. Good wireless internet access makes it better.
We have a fire burning and are relaxing!!!

Steve I think I just heard your tones go off, you may need to head back to the Tavern.

Let me tell you about this trip.... Had to call 911. DW had chest pain at 0230. EMS took her to Pardee in Hendersonville. Md suspected at blood clot in her lung. Scared this Medic half to death. CT came back clear.
It rained during that episode. I followed EMS to Ed. Picked up DW after she was released(slept at her bedside in a chair). On the way back to the CG, we were coming out of Edneyville on 64, I saw something that looked out of place in the river. We turned around and found a NEW Cadillac upside down in the creek. The water was down enough to access the passenger side of the Cadi. I climbed down, after calling 911 for the second time in 6 hrs, got soaking wet in the process. No one was in the car. Thank goodness.
This is one for the books.

Oh, the hits keep coming. Got a call tonight that one of the girls in my daughters class at school(13) was shot and killed today.
Darn what a weekend.

Boy htfiremedic

I've been in your shoe's kinda, I'm a former Firefighter/EMT from S. Florida and I can feel your pain. I have A-Fib and DW spent the night in the ER as they gave me 2 bags of saline because I was dehydrated, but that was awhile back. Glad to hear nobody was in the car, takes me back to a call that we had that the outcome was not so good I will pray for you and your duaghter and her friends I really don't know what's up with today's society and guns.

Lets start out the new year on a better foot

Well. The funeral was yesterday. The kids of my daughters school led a candle light vigil and arranged it all themselves. They have come together like I have NEVER seen before. They made the best of a bad situation. The community has really come through for the family as well.
I can honestly say that if is looking up.
DW is feeling better as well. Thanks for the support!!
