HELP!!! Inside Electrical Outlet Issues!
Hi All! I placed this in the 5vr section hoping to get a more rapid response. I have a 2012 Raptor...(50 amp) and we are scheduled to depart in the morning for a two week journey. Brought it to the house to do the normal checks and discovered I have a electrical issue with the AC receptacles. They work in the garage area, but not in any other location. I just wanted to run the refer overnight for tomorrows shove-off.
There is 120v at the power distro box coming in. The TV's power up, microwave powers up, but no other receptacles will work. What can this be? I have check all of the wire connections...weird.
Thanks,
Steve

Check your GFI to make sure it is not tripped. That's usually the culprit. Hope it is and you have a great trip.

Sounds like the GFCI outlet has been tripped. Look for the GFCI outlet and re set the the button.
I'm betting that cures it.
Mine is by the bathroom sink.

Been there done that with hooking up the battery backwards, who would have thought that white was the ground on a 12V system. Now carry spare 40 amp fuses because you need 2 of them if you hook the battery up wrong. Not many places sell 40 amp fuses at 2 am when you finally discover the problem.

Alabama,
No, dummy is when you start digging into the wiring "in the I can fix anything" mode only to pay big $$ to have someone come to CG to fix it (reset GFI). I mean, that's what I've heard anyway...

Yeah. Local Lordco sells them. Bought a 4 pack last time for when I do this again.
White ground is apparently the norm for trailers. Keep thinking I should but black electrical tape on the white cable and red tape on the black cable.

Thanks guys for all of the replies . We had a great trip...all was well...except for the "bounce" in the TH garage...just about destroyed my golf cart . I had three ratchet straps and it still bounced up and down like a ball! Bounced the batteries out and busted one of them...that was a mess to clean up
Anyway, appreciate you good folks...truly like this forum!!

Alabama, I carry a cart in mine as well. I always use 4 ties (rachet straps) I run all 4 corners of the cart and I cross them. Right front gets secured to the left tie down in the garage an left front gets tied to the right tie down in the garge floor. Same on the back. Cart never moves.
Mine are gas carts but the batteries are secured in the carts as well.
Glad to hear it all worked out.

Essness...thanks for the info...I'll certainly give that a try. I'm going to add additional support under and around the batteries to include a tie-down method for them.
Thanks Much!

Alabama_Camper, Howdy;
Having had to secure more than a few vehicles to flatbed
trailers and some inside aircraft, the 'trick' is to quiet the
suspension system. If it has springs or shocks you need to
compress them, not completely, maybe 1/2 the travel distance.
If the suspension is the tires perhaps a strap across the floor to
pull down on it a little will do the trick.
The crisscrossing of the front and rear tie downs is always
recommended, referred to as lateral stabilizers, prevents the item from 'walking around'.
