Full length door replacement.

So far I'm loving the keystone hideout 38bhd however..I am not a fan of the doors that leave a 4 inch gap. The one to the front room, bathroom and main bedroom all are like this. Even the sliding door to the bedroom.

The camper will be stationary for the next few years and id like to be able to have a bit more privacy.

Is it as simple as buying a new door of the same size? And is there a reason they have that gap that I'm not understanding? I'd imagine it's so there's no damage during transportation of the trailer when it flexes. But since it's stationary id like to replace them.

Is there anything wrong with that? And are there any good places to look in store or online for smaller door replacements?

The gaps are for safety. LO, CO and smoke alarms need the gap for air movement in a confined space.

Additionally, the furnace and air conditioner have no "return air capability" if the doors don't "vent the entire trailer". Close a door that won't return air and you'll either have a hot trailer or a wet one with "one room where you can hang meat"..... Those doors are a part of the overal HVAC and safety systems and are "engineered to be cost effective as well as achieve the desired ventilation"...

your home hvac is much the same way unless you have a return in every bedroom you likely have a hallway or central return with supplies in every room and either a transfer grill( less likely) or undercut doors..when people block off the gap or add carpet to a bedroom floor without cutting the door a little higher they unknowingly make the room harder to keep a consistent temperature….it’s like blowing air into a coke bottle..you need to be able to circulate the air to keep even temps

I'm having trouble figuring the lack of privacy created by that gap at the bottom of the door? It would be difficult too see anything unless trying very hard while laying on the floor attempting to look in?

I think for me the biggest thing is simply the bathroom you need to pass though to get to the main bedroom.

But I do also have a few small parrots that would be living in the front closed off room. I could always put somw mesh down at the bottom to keep them from getting into rooms they arnt supose to be in.
