Fender flare

Hi all, I have a 2018 Passport Elite 34MB that lost one part of a three piece fender flare coming home a few days ago. Searched for it but could not find it. Does anyone know where I can find a parts diagram to get a part number, or a store that may have the part? Thanks very much for your help.

Trekwood.com is about the only place I know of where you might pick that part up. There website is painful to use and shipping is a bit pricey. I would be tempted to call them rather than place the order online but that is me.

Welcome to the forum

That part is called a fender skirt. Trekwood may have it, but S&H might be a lot. If you get the P/N from trekwood, I bet you’ll be able to find it on line cheaper:

Thanks for the Trekwood tip. I'd scanned their site endlessly before I posted but hadn't found the part. I'll call them to see if they can help.

Did I mention their website is a mess? Calling will save you from pulling your hair out... I looked and couldn't find "fender skirt" or anything similar.

I used “fender” and got a bunch.

Their website is far too general when searching. I'm not even convinced this part is available at this point. Not going to be happy if I can't replace a part on a barely 4 year old camper.

I think trying to find the "middle part of a fender skirt" is going to be an impossible task.....

That said, what Keystone does on the assembly line is cut the skirt to fit the trailer. Almost all of them are cut to fit slides, so it's not a "rocket science type event". When I was last at the factory, the line workers were installing the fender skirts on the trailer with slides retracted, cutting the plastic in the right places and then installing the "cheap/salvage aluminum waste strips" to stabilize them for towing to the dealer. (nearly all of us have retrofitted the strips to better stabilize our fender skirts)....

You'll do better ordering the entire fender skirt and then either replacing all three sections (that way the color and the cut edges will match) rather than trying to find "the middle part"....

Here's a link to Keystone fender skirts and you'll probably find what you're looking for: https://www.icondirect.com/categorie...snf=1&brand=21

Don't wind up in an emergency heart center when you look at pricing...... For what it's worth, the actual costs will give most people a heart attack, and if you add shipping, you're looking at an extended stay at the ER......

Yes, you'll need to by the entire fender then cut it as required. I went through 3 of them on the last trailer and the ones the dealer put on looked like little Timmy got to use a Sawzall for the first time when they cut for the end of the slide. I've got an entire spare fender for that trailer (traded) but it doesn't look like yours.

The fender skirt comes in one piece, and then you'll need it cut it up into 3 sections yourself to fit the trailer. You can get any color as long as looks right. Then you can spray paint to match the rest of the camper. Those skirts are a vinyl / plastic, can easily be cut and fit with a pair of tin snips or even meat scissors. If the color is off slightly, you can always spray paint the fender on the other side the exact same color and then they will match each other.

I spray painted the vinyl propane tank cover on my last travel trailer (Outback) when it faded from a pretty brown to a dull grey. I spray painted it with Professional Rust-o-lium (black). I did 2 coats to catch the small spots I missed with the first coat. It dried hard enough for the second coat in less than an hour. And it lasted for another 3 years, still shinny as the day I painted it, never chipped, flaked, for faded again. I say 3 years because 3 years after doing the paint, we traded for our current fifth wheel.

Replacing the fender skirt is a very easy job. So new or used, you don't need to be to picky, as long as the fender covers over the tires. If you can't find an exact match, then get 2 of them and replace the other side at the same time, then you do have an exact match.

Good luck!

I was beginning to wonder if they were essentially cut to fit. However, I won't need to. Went back to the search area one last time and remarkably found the piece. It was about 2/3 of a mile further south of my search area. Completely intact. Logged about 5.75 miles on foot looking for the sucker but was blessed to find it about 12 feet off the road.

Did the holes where it was screwed onto the body strip out? How did it blow off? Could you tell? Anyway, good find!

Under engineered and under built. The screws have a 1/4" head and were installed with no washers on a soft plastic fender. There's a very weak aluminum brace here and there that is broken on mine, presumably from working back and forth and cracking.

Your fender skirt bracing is common across all RV makers near as I can tell. You can go to a home improvement place and purchase more stout stock and bend it and beef up the bracing. Hope you get that bit back on your camper and no more flying off into the bushes!

On our first trailer I started losing the screws as they would loosen so I just went and bought small bolts with lock nuts. When we got the next trailer I just went under the entire length and applied a bead of silicone on each screw and over the hole. I have 4000 miles on the trailer and not one loose screw.

When I had the tire separate and tear up stuff I found a new fender skirt from this place https://elkrv.com/ . It was fairly reasonable and decent shipping.
When I mounted it I used screws with castle nuts and did the same thing to the other side.

I ran into a similar situation. You buy a whole skirt, then cut it where necessary. Easier to find.
