Need towing help on Ashville NC

Our dully broke down in Ashville so 5th wheel was towed to a campsite. We would like to get back to Clinton TN today so the kids can get in school Monday. We are in a hotel at the moment because it was late b4 dully and 5th were towed.

Is anyone in the area that can help us out? We would of course pay you. Thanks in advance. I can be contacted by PM on this site.

FYI folks... 30 foot bumper pull under 10K lbs so a dually isn't needed for towing. Good luck maam!

To increase the potential list of helpers, you might consider leaving the fifth wheel where it's at and when the truck is repaired, tow the rig home as a unit.
That way, some volunteer could get you and the kids home, possibly with a SUV or even a smaller half ton crew cab. Is there a specific need to tow the trailer to get the kids back for school???

Is there not an Enterprise car rental or something like that nearby? I've had them come get me so I could rent a car.... I would be leaving the truck and camper until the truck was fixed. Good luck in finding transportation.

We live full time in the camper so not an option as we need our home with us.

In that case, you might try a couple of RV dealers in the local area to see if any of them have a transport driver list. Most dealerships have "on call drivers" to deliver RV's from dealership to dealership, to transport an RV for a customer who doesn't have a tow vehicle or to "run to the factory to pick up a special order". Any dealer "should be able" to make a connection for you with someone who can "commercially tow your trailer for you"....

I'd be careful with the "volunteer with good intentions". If your trailer is too big for his truck and damages it or if he has an accident and damages your trailer, you may have significantly more problems than just getting home....

If he "runs over someone" you may wind up in court as an "unwilling participant"... If you can find someone with a commercial license, the liability is going to be much less a problelm if something happens.

Yep if you have the money to pay someone then I would just pay a professional to move it…probably gonna be more money but your going to have the haulers insurance to protect you …might get dicey if something goes awry when someone tries to “help”…for them and for you.

When you add everything up it may be just time to purchase a new truck and be done with it

Also is this specifically for you? I see in the past posts you work for a volunteer FB group that looks to loan out rv’s ….and you have or had a travel trailer not a fifth wheel. Your posts seem to paint a picture of someone with grown kids and grandkids and possibly retired?

Just curious as my skepticism meter pegs over when I hear someone asking for help…my apologies if I got it wrong

The RV for Mds group was volunteer in 2020 and this is not for them. Good and smart checking though. It is for my daughter and family who are full time heading back from holiday visit @ourboydsnest. Trying to help out.
