dinette top not wide enough

so quick story...
last trip it was really hot so I decided to sleep on the dinette under the window to get more air. I set up the bed at midnight in the dark while my family was sleeping so i didnt really pay attention. Went to bed and slept all night great. The next morning I got up to make some coffee and my 5 year old jumped on the dinette bed.... while doing so the table top slipped and she fell into the abyss. lol Scared her to death.

Anywho when i pulled all the blankets and pillows off to figure out why it fell, i realized the table top was only making contact with like 1/4" of the brackets below (thank god i didnt cause it to fall, i would of burned the trailer to the ground).

So any upgrade to make sure that table top is a little more secure when turned into a bed? Would like to see your improvements.

Yeah... the bracing for the "dinette bed" is always less than well-engineered. In my last rig, the side brackets were well fit and tight, but under use, the edge of the table itself separated from the top surface at its glue/brad joint and dumped the sleeper.

Since then, I have always made some ABS "Sleeper Helper" posts. From an ABS pipe a little narrower than your metal posts (so that it slides inside) cut two pieces that are exactly the right length to brace your table when it is in the sleeper position. Increases performance under load tremendously.

And in your case, if your "side rails" are spaced too widely, you should add another side rail to one side on top of the existing one.
