I was wondering, is everybody happy?
I was wondering, is everyone happy with the radio reception? Seems like mine is not very good unless you are close to the stations. (which doesn't happen to often in our area) Is it because there is no outside aerial? My jayco had a outside aerial and it worked great. Is there any way to solve the problem?

Not sure what model RV you have, but there has been several threads about the radios. Remove the beauty ring covering 4 screws, remove the unit and you will note that during installation the antenna wire will still be bundled. Remove the twist tie and extend the antenna, some have drilled a small hole in the cabinet and extended the antenna up the wall behind the TV. You'll get beter recieption.

We have the same problem- no outside aerial. Was thinking of possibly buying one if I could get the wire strung from the outside down the wall to where the radio is. Might possibley try extending the existing wire up the interior wall and see what that does.

As Tim already advised, first get to that bundle of antenna wire, unwrap it, and extend it out as far as possible. If that doesn't improve reception satisfactorily, there are AM/FM antennas available for RV's that can be mounted on the roof of your trailers, or on an outside wall.

Mine’s always been fine. It’s a Jensen and I have the rooftop whip antenna.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised when you untangle the FM antenna wire from behind the radio. Ours was bad until we did that, not it gets tons of stations. What a difference 5 minutes of work made.

A word about the poster......
FYI, the poster of this thread is no longer a member of our forum. He/she is involved in marketing, social networking, and apparently owns a "Honda" RV. (in answer to Tim's question)

Our radio reception stinks, am going to definitely try and look at taking a few minutes and unraveling the wire, good tip.

Well I did follow others advise. I unrolled the wire antenna and teh raido is picking up stations I could not get before. I pulled it up and taped it around the TV cabinet and it works better?? Randy
