Satellite Prep

I have a King VQ2100 satellite with Directv. It works fine until I hook it up to my satellite prep on my 2017 Springdale 235RB. I then get no signal. I have no idea why! The dealership told me to call King, King says they have no idea about specific RV’s wiring. My main TV is in the living room. It has the booster which I made sure is off, I also tried it on but nothing. There is also a small jumper next to the booster. I’m not sure what to connect or disconnect to get it to work. My wife doesn’t want the cable coming in through a window. Help?

Are you hooked up to the satellite plug and not the cable input?

I only have 1 connection on my trailer that is labeled satellite prep!

So you have 2 coax inputs on the exterior?

If so then one will be park cable and the other will be SAT in.

Ok, then odds are the loop by the booster is where the receiver would go.

If your using “park cable” the loop stays and the booster is turned off. If your using Sat, then you take the loop out. One of those connections will be SAT in, if your receiver has coax out then the other connection is for that. If your receiver has HDMI out then you connect to your TV.

We also have one coax connector on the rear of our Cougar. We do not have satellite TV, so we use it (with the inside loop connected) for cable TV. If we had satellite, the dish connector is attached to that single coax fitting and the satellite receiver is connected in place of the inside loop. On ours, the loop is removed, the satellite receiver input is connected to the lower connection and the satellite receiver output is connected to the top loop connector. With this connection, if we connect a satellite dish to the rear coax input, the signal goes to the receiver and then to the TV. If we connect a TV cable signal to the rear coax, the signal "flows through" the satellite receiver and then to the TV. Of course, there is also the antenna booster which is turned OFF for all satellite or cable TV and turned ON for OTA antenna input.
