How does this make sense?

I have the 2010 Keystone Sprinter Select 29BHS. All other Sprinter Select models that year have a 47 gallon fresh water tank, and a 64 gallon gray water tank. Mine has the 47 gallon fresh, but a 32 gallon gray! Why in the world would I have a smaller gray tank than fresh? And why only MY model? Is there any reasoning behind this?

Fresh gets distributed between gray and black tanks. Meaning, most people use both black and gray tanks.

I have a 56 gal fresh tank and 32 gal black, gray and gray tanks.

About half the Keystone RV's have fresh water thanks that have more capacity than the holding tanks. Check the specifications on the Hideout, Springdale and Cougar models. Many of them are similar to your capacities...

If you really want to chuckle, check out the Carbon 27. 106 gallons of fresh water with a 38 gallon black tank and a 38 gallon gray tank.

I don't have an outside shower, lol! I wonder what brilliant minds decided this is the way to go. I mean, how much water do you REALLY use to flush the toilet? As much as when dishes are washed or a shower is taken? Sheesh!

Its like elections, the number of counted votes do not have to match the total number of registered voters. I would think most of time 64 gallons of gray equates to 2 X 32 gallon tanks, one galley and one bathroom. Sometimes the Fresh water number includes what is in the HWT

I personally would like to have a larger capacity gray water tank than the fresh water tank. In my experience, it's easier and takes less energy to refill fresh water at state parks than it does dumping a gray water tank. Would rather tote around 6 gallon jugs of clean water than a stink tank, especially when you have end of the day showers with little ones. Gray tank space is much appreciated. YMMV.

As mentioned above, 64 gallons would have been two separate tanks(most likely) at 32 gallons. Hoping that there is in fact a reason, I think there must be something different about that floor plan which would not permit the addition of the second tank.

Well, if you put 32 in one, you only need to get 15 in the other, right?

So, I'm going with "no", they didn't expect equal filling.

It can just make things more difficult if i camp with no hookups. It is likely I will have to hook up to empty gray before I even run out of fresh water.

No, there is no expectation that you will fill them equally... however normally people do flush the toilet in their camper which uses water. They also drink which ends up in the toilet (most of the time).

In the end it doesn't matter. Would you rather have a smaller fresh tank? Just fill it half way if that makes you happy. [emoji846]

I would rather face the problem of a full gray tank and still have fresh water than the problem of no more fresh water. The former is easier to fix if boondocking.
