Battery(s) Information! Calculations (Formulas)

BATTERY DEPLETION

Ah x 90% = <====== Peukert's Law
/ amp draw =
X 50% = hours to depletion (50% = 12.06v)

BATTERY CHARGE

Ah of batteries
X % of charge needed = (if @ 12.42 = 80% = 20% to !00% full charge)
/ amp setting =
X 1.25 = hrs of charge

BATTERY STATE OF CHARGE

12.60 = 100%
12.50 = 90%
12.42 = 80%
12.32 = 70%
12.20 = 60%
12.06 = 50%
11.90 = 40%
11.75 = 30%
11.58 = 20%
11.31 = 10%
10.50 = 0%

MY CONVERTER/INVERTER
(WF - 8955)

14.4 - Quick Charge
(Bulk)
13.6 - Normal Charge
(Absorption)
13.2 - Trickle Charge
(Float)

These Calculations (Formulas) Are Not 100%, But Come VERY Close To What I Need & Want. May Need Tweaking To Your Needs!

I have very few vehicles with AGM batteries, but those that do require an AGM compatible charger. I use the Deltran Battery Tender brand.

If I were to change my SRX GC batteries to AGM's (not likely, but what if), would the WFCO converter charge them on the correct schedule? It has smart charger capability, but are those smarts smart enough (like my Deltran) to know they are now charging AGM's?

Edit: I use my surge protector amp indication to charge my batteries when boondocking, leaving the gen running until the amps trickle down to 1 amp. Low amps = charged batteries.

AGM's (Deep Cycle) Require a thee phase charger as your WFCO provides.

(2) AGM's Meet my needs as all we do is Boondock. 200Ah with a 3.0A draw to 50% discharge, lasts 30hrs, which includes all Phantom amps required by camper + TV, Tailgater & vip 211k at night and radio all day. I Charge batteries every morning for approx. 3hrs to a full charge. I use generator for coffee pot and toaster at the same time as charge time.

I use these also ===>http://www.keystonerv.org/forums/showthread.php?t=25633

I do the same charging cycle in the AM while running the Keurig and also late afternoon/early evening should I need electrical for something else like the ice maker. Tough duty...
