Another's Atwood issue

I can stick it on ac and gas just fine. While on gas the pilot lights up just fine. Lights are on and no red flashing warnings. The problem is every time I check it after a few hours or more it isn't cool at all.

Some take 6-8 hours to cool. If the back panel of the freezer is cool or the fins then it is working and just takes time. I leave my fridge on all the time.

Worked fine at the campsite. I'm going to chalk it up to incline in driveway and trailer parked nose low.

It may well be the "off level condition" caused by the driveway incline and "trailer nose low" angle. Something to be concerned with, is operating the refrigerator when "off level": Remember that the refrigerant "pools" in the "low spots" and if allowed to operate while "off level" for a sustained time, the "solids" in the refrigerant will settle out. If this occurs, those "deposits" can block the refrigerant tubes causing a "cooling unit failure". Should that occur, you're looking at about $500 to $1000 to replace the cooling unit, depending on whether you can do the work or need to have it done at an RV repair center.

It's best to avoid operating any Absorption refrigerator in an "off level" condition, if at all possible. I'd urge you to find a way to level the trailer in the driveway, or don't operate the refrigerator when it's parked there.

Yea it wouldn't cool at all in driveway. From my understanding there is some safety deal that keeps it from working while not level so that's good. I have it level back at home now that I know better, thanks all

I am not aware of any safety device, if it had one then it would keep shutting off/turning on as you drive.

Is your refer a new Atwood Helium?
