I guess that's another positive with the Andersen hitch. You watch as it lowers on the ball, and give the cable handle a twist, and know its locked on.

We're all just glad it was just the truck bed and no body parts were between the trailer and truck when it happened.

I was thinking the same thing. Too bad for the OP. There are so many gotchas one can encounter with towing operations. I do a walkaround a couple of times before beginning a pull. Paranoia exists for a reason and nothing is totally fool proof.

For you folks with the Andersen, give those Allen heads on the king pin adapter a check at the beginning of the season (40#). They do loosen...
