When I needed to replace my battery, I opted for the 2 6v golf batteries from Interstate.
1. I can/did get them for cost.
2. I had a 2 battery tray not being used.
3. Golf cart batteries take the abuse being drained repeatedly, even though I dont dry camp that frequently, usually 1 time a year.
4. I dont have the exact figures but the 2 6v was about equal to 3 12v in amp hours.
5. 1 bad 12v will ruin the other 12v, recommended to buy both at the same time.
6. 6 volts dont ruin each other, but still have to buy 2 to run a 12v system.
7. Might tinker with some solar sometime, 6v have more reserve, best bang for money spent.
8. The factory homemade wimpy battery cables were kind of shotty in my book. Wanted to replace, add a marine cut-off switch, LED lights and happy now.
9. Why not... great little project.
10. 2 years ago had a tornado 10 miles away, no power for 22 hours, actaully spent the night in the camper. Had a couple families stay in the house, they lost theirs. A great little backup home when needed.
