Nor-Cal To San Diego trip. any good rv spots

Hello all. We are going to make a rather hasty trip probably This Thursday the 12th.

We will be leaving Eureka,Ca with a final destination of San Diego. This will be our first long trip. I say long, longer that 2 days.

If you know of any good RV parks,Koa's,good sam's, or what not I would like to have your input.

Probably leaving here down Ca 101 s, to either the Bay area then to I5, or take ca hwy 20 to I5 then all the way down to SD. Thanks for your help.

We stayed at a no hook up site at El Capitan state park
which was basicly a parking lot on a cliff overlooking
the ocean - but we loved it!

Jo

You could walk down to the ocean and walk the beach!

...and and if you continued down the 101 below Santa Barbara and above Ventura there is Rincon. It is right on the beach and parallels the 101. No hookups but a popular spot. Lake Casitas has a campground in Ojai. Haven't been there in years so don't remember what it offers but a pretty area.

Santa Nella RV Park is a good location right off I-5. It is close to restaurants and fuel and not too pricey.

Made it back today. 2,000 miles, and a whole lot of gas. San Diego KOA was a nice place. Close to town, beaches, gas, and groceries. The place is a good place for a family to travel to. Lots of stuff for kids. It's just the wife and I , so I could have lived just fine without all that activity. Skate boards, motorized scooters, every kind of bicycle you can Imagine ,r/c toys, etc.

The highway is very loud 24/7. Nice dog area's in the camp.

t was a nice trip, and all the RV parks we stayed at were nice. Pulling in after dark was a first for us, but we've got it down pretty good now.

I washed the Trailer today, and gave it a pretty good inspection. Oiled up the stabilizers, Drained all the water, and I'm ready to go again. We have really enjoyed this new trailer, and can't wait to hitch up again.
