Sceen door screen protector

Our dog tore the screen on our door earlier this summer. I stopped at camping world and got one of their screen protectors. I went to put it on this weekend but it would not fit. I could have put it on vertically but it would not have covered the whole screen. Has anyone else installed a screen protector? What did you use?

Our dog ripped the screen once when we were out so unfortunately for her she goes into her crate when we go out. She is always fine when at hope when she is alone but I think there are too many different noises at campgrounds. If we are going to be out too much, we leave her at home with the kids although she does not like that at all.

Current trailer and 2 before that, I went to a hardware store and got clear Plexiglas cut to fix lower half of screen door. I use small sheet metal screws and screwed them onto the screen door frame. 4 or 6 screws will work. This adds little weight to door and door works as normal. After the fix none have been ruined from my Labs. By the way on my home patio screen I got the extra heavy duty screen that is dog rip proof. It works at home but the track or groove that holds the screen in the RV doors is to small for that type of screen.

I did the same as Ken/Claudia except I used the Velcro stuff so I could remove it if I needed to. The screws they used would be better IMO.

Yep.. Plexiglas and Industrail Velcro for us also..We cut the velcro into appx 3 in strips.. We have both top and bottom doors with Plexiglas.. good to keep the main door open in summer and winter.. Oh and little pup can look out and not throw a fit...

Screen door

My dogs are smaller and I was able to use some of that plastic material that is used for yard signs. Goes on the little wire supports. I just cut to size, flexed it and popped it right into the interior track. Dogs can't see out, but lots of light still gets through.

I also used plexiglass on my screen door. I used pure silicon bead all the way around the inside edge so it fits inside the door. You hardly notice the clear silicone and I can run the air with the big door open. I can still remove the plexiglass without damaging the door. The Velcro is probably the best way to go if you plan on taking the glass out very often.
