Suburban Hot Water Heater

Each year, I'm having to replace the thermostats in my hot water heater. Luckily, the hot and cold go at different times. Is that normal?

Have not had a failure on the 12 volt/propane thermostat yet, but last year the 120 volt thermostat failed. I changed it out and is still working. I did discover that Suburban had a bad batch of thermostats that were not holding up. The reset button on the bad thermostats were red in color, where the good ones are gray. This is the button that is under the rubber cover on the black plastic cover on the face of the water heater. Didn't see where the 12 volt ones were going bad. Maybe you got a bad replacement 120 volt one.

You are right, I think everyone that has failed was red both originals and first replacements. Now have 2 grey ones installed.
