Hissing water heater

Hi guys/gals, for the last few weeks when the water is heating up on electric it's been making a hissing sound. There's no leaks the pressure release valve is fine. The hissing sound is the same sound like I have the gas on but I don't.
The water's hot, pressure is fine and no troubles there.
It's just annoying and I'm wondering if maybe the element is on it's way out?

Ours does that too. It's just the water reacting to the hot element, just like water in a pot, boiling on the stove, just more intense. I've noticed the sound for a long time, so don't think it's any reason to worry.

Yeah I figured that it's not a big deal as it doesn't affect anything I'm just wondering why it just started now.

I've noticed that too, sometimes it's quiet. Don't know if it's the incoming water temp, air in the water, or just background noise masking the sound. I just did my annual service of the water heater, new anode, flushed the tank, and I don't know if it's because of the tank being clean, or if it's not having the A/C running as much, causing noise to mask the other sounds, but it does seem to be hissing a bit more. I just figure, it is letting me know it's happy and working

The day after I posted this the hissing stopped and I haven't heard it since
I think that the next time I have a problem I'll post about it as it seems to fix it without me doing anything!
