Cleaning your awning

I was just reading about this product called Wet and Forget and a guy was saying that he swears by the stuff. He said he sprayed his awning with it 2 yrs ago and opened it up and his awning was like new!
Has anyone heard of or used this product?

I use "Wet and Forget" mold and mildew remover to clean the house siding and have used it on the foundation (concrete) to clean it also. I've never used it on the awning or roof. This is just my opinion, but if there's "dirt and stain" on white vinyl, just spraying it with a couple ounces of "cleaner" might bleach it white, but would do little to remove the accumulation of "bleached dirt". Wet and Forget is designed to spray on and forget it (no rinsing). I just don't know what any "chemical compound" would do to vinyl if it was left on and allowed to dry.

I use dawn/warm water, extend the awning, lower it to the lowest setting, hose off the awning, brush the dawn/water solution on the awning top, roll it up for half an hour, extend, brush it again and rinse well with clear water.

If you don't have "mold stains" on the underside, rolling it up will get the soapy solution on the bottom and just a clear rinse is all that's needed to get the soap off.

After that, once it's dry, I spray 303 on the top and roll it up again while wet. That gets "some" 303 on the underside of the awning as well.

I will generally just spray it with Tilex and rinse it after 15 minutes or so.

Have never tried the Wet and Forget cleaner.

I have a park model Breckenridge (since 2001) and currently live in the woods!
Used the "Wet & Forget" to kill the moss growing on asphalt shingles on my roof, in the shade of many trees.
It did the job of killing the moss and subsequent rain finished up the job.
On my fold-down camper, I've used standard awning wash which worked very well on tree sap etc.
In the storage sleeve for this awning, I used OdoBan to kill and clean the green creepy crawlies there.
Just my 2¢

I've used Wet and Forget for almost two years, and it does a great job for me. You have to clean the bugs and grime off first, then apply. It keeps the mildew from coming back on the awning. Mine stays white for about 3 to 4 months before I need to reapply.

I use straight hydrogen peroxide and a cloth...keeps the awning looking brand new and white as can be.

Does take some time though as it is a spray on / wipe off type process.

Thanks for the reply, that's great that your awning stays white for 3 to 4 months. I'm going to see if anyone local sells it
