Weatherstripping for outside compartment doors

Can anyone point me towards a place where I can buy this like home depot or lowes?

I have one door that part of the weatherstripping is peeling off, and i'm not 100% sold on how well it seals to begin with. I've never seen or felt water in there, but I think it needs to be replaced so I can be sure about it.

It was stuck on ok until I started cleaning this past weekend...I knocked into it and a small section loosened...so i'm feeling replacing the whole thing.

I probably asked the question wrong. I know you can buy this stuff at any rv place, and probably any of lowes, home depot, walmart maybe?

Anyways, I'm looked for specifics. Maybe someone found something better than the stock stuff they put on these doors? Or tried something else and it didn't work as well?

My plan is to replace it before this weekend, climb inside the area with a flashlight while someone sprays water on it so I can verify its sealed. Need to do it soon, because its unpacked and first trip is this weekend. And its clean in there right now lol.

okay, I'll step out on a limb. I haven't replaced the weather stripping on my RV, but I have used some from HD on an equipment box that sits in the back of my truck. I used the Frost King 1/2" tape and it has worked well. Have been through a couple good rains both sitting in the driveway and traveling and the box has stayed dry inside.

Also, if you want to check for seal, I'd recommend crawling inside at night and have someone shine a light on it. If you can't see light coming through, water most likely will not either.

Hi
Check out PPLmotorhomes.com

I have bought weatherstripping for compartment doors there before.

Keep in mind that there is "closed cell" and "open cell" weatherstripping. Open cell is like a sponge and can pull water into the compartment. It's softer than open cell and will "seal better" in dry situations. Some closed cell won't flex or compress enough to seal without deforming the door, so make sure what you get will work for the area you're intending to use it. Getting the OEM type weatherstripping may be your best bet rather than finding a "make do" product at HD or Lowe's.

Thanks! So closed cell would be the way to go, assuming it doesn't deform the door?

The stuff thats on it, when you look at it from a cut end its like a "D" with the flat part being where the tape is. The D then gets smashed down when the door is shut. It does not feel very heavy duty or "quality" as it were at all.
