Fill for water tank

Hello

Quick question (tried searching forum for answer first but no luck). Our 5'er was winterized with non-toxic antifreeze, which I flushed out a couple of weeks ago. I filled the tank, ran all the faucets, etc, so that the lines were cleared, however there is still an aftertaste. We don't drink the water, but do use it to brush teeth, shower, etc, so I would like it to be as clean as possible.

I've heard many ppl say to pour a bleach/water or chlorine/water mix into the tank, which I would like to do. However, I have no idea how to access the top of the tank! Our water fill is on the outside with a typical hose adaptor and filter on it. I guess I could take off the filter and use a funnel or something to pour the mixture in. There is also a small 6x6" opening in the storage area where I can see the pump, but obviously not big enough to put my hand through or work in.

Any ideas as to how I access the top of the tank or get the mixture in is appreciated!

Trailer is a 2012 Keystone Copper Canyon 292bhs.

Thanks

Try pouring some bleach into the hose before you connect it.

Haha - I can't believe I didn't think about that. That's easy enough to do!

Thanks

1/4 cup bleach for every 15 gallons of tank size. Here is a video.

Fresh water tank vent

Look on the outside of your trailer. More than likely, if you have a force fill on your fresh water tank, there will be an air vent for the tank the has a cover which can be popped off. If you have this, the bleach can be poured directly into the fresh water tank from there and than pop the cover back on. Also, when you're boondocking and need to add fresh water you can add through the vent as well.

Thanks for the info, I was wondering the same thing. Thought about turning my 90 deg. Adapter upside down to make a make shift funnel. Or a syphon jar attached to the hose like a sprayer, but the two ideas you guys had sound easier.
