Brake pads - what do you use?
I have a Ram 1500 Hemi rated for 9900 pounds towing a TT at 8700. I currently have ceramic brake pads but they make a lot of noise. What are you using?

ceramics are real hard on the rotor. I have tried them took them off because of the squeals when you apply your breaks. I bought what the fire department and emergency vehicles use. By bendex brake they are softer. stops fast, they don't make any noise.

Over the years I have tried everything. I now use MOPAR VALUE LINE pads and have been very pleased with them. Quiet, fade resistant and reasonable price. Your dealer should have them, I get them on-line. JM2¢, Hank

Number 1 complaint in auto repair. A number of years ago Ford basically said, that's their nature, deal with it. It's that or I suck more asbestos.

I've been running Akebono ceramic pads with slotted rotors on the wife's Volvo XC70 for awhile now with no noise and they've been very easy on the rotors. We live in the mountains...stopping effort, wear and fade resistance have been at least as good as stock pads, and there is no black brake dust on the wheels like the original pads.
Semi metallic (Wilwood recommended) still seem the best for stopping power, but they can be hard on the rotors.
EGR has a nice pad that I put on my '94 Ram Cummins, with braided steel lines along with 1 ton wheel cylinders to actuate the rear shoes. It was a nice upgrade.
