You said you has two links free. That may be too loose to tell if you are getting the same tension on both bars. If you have the round bar type hitch, those bars need to be parallel to the trailer frame. Once that is achieved, you can adjust WD by tilting the hitch ball accordingly. It's more work to do it like that which is why a lot of people just throw up their hands, see everything looks level, and go down the road with an improperly adjusted hitch. Can you post a pic of your rig with the trailer hitched up? I think that would be a good way to start since we don't seem to be solving your problem. Also, begin by forgetting everything the guy at CW told you because he's wrong, as are most dealers when it comes to setting up a hitch properly.
