Pressure Regulator

Which pressure regulator is best for a 2011 Montana 5th wheel--adjustable with pressure gauge or preset? We presently have a preset from Camping World, and the water pressure seems very low to me.

You might want to read LeeMedic's post today found in the General Rv Issue forum. It is about this same topic and he has included a source and pic of an adjustable one with gauge.

Here's the link to where I bought mine. A Watts Adjustable Regulator with stainless parts was around $90.

http://www.rvwaterfilterstore.com/Pr...Regulators.htm

Don't waste your time and money with the cheapie Camco screw on ones. This are nothing but flow restrictors. I had one and it shut off the secondtime I used it.
I set the Watts for 50PSI and forget about it.

To answer your question more specifically, both regulators work the same restricting the water pressure to 40 psi, the guage just gives you a visual of what it's doing, although some are adjustable. I use it to connect 100% of the time, however, I've come across situations that the pressure was so low that I've taken it off. I've also seen the non believers come out in the morning to see water raining from the bottom of there RV.......better safe than sorry!

This thread makes me ponder the pressure regulator I have on my stick house. We have way-high water pressure from the city, approaching 100psi. I put on a regulator I got from Home Depot and dialed it to 45psi. Where I used to have tremendous flow with the high pressure, we’ve lost about half that flow with the regulator. And here I thought a decent regulator would be wide open if the flow used dropped the pressure enough.

But on my trailer, the Camco regulator the dealer gave me still gives us decent pressure, though I do wonder what it’d be like without it. Time to get out my pressure gauge and do some experimenting on the trailer *and* the stick house.

Watts N45BDU-EZ M1 3/4" Water Pressure Reducing Valve - PEX Connection - EZ Read Plastic Top
This is available from Amazon, Hose fitting adapters to hose come with it. This is 3/4" passage way and will give full flow at and below the set pressure; those mentioned have smaller orfices thus restricting flow at low presures with reg in valve wide open Been using this for few years. Commercial quality from industrial leader. You get what you pay for; I had 2 wal mart reg and camping world failed very low flow also. Adjustable if needed preset at 45# from factory. I installe this at the inlet end of my hose (park valve end) thus protecting my hose and trailer. While i was at a park few years ago, neighbor's hose blew apart at trailer end and made quite a mess.
