List of Camping Closures/Restrictions Due To Coronavirus

The idea here is to create a one stop list of closures for planning purposes. Please add to the list as you become aware of new closures.

New Mexico State Parks are closed to overnight camping.

Emery, Grand and Carbon Counties (Moab area) in Utah have closed all camping including dispersed, commercial RV parks, campgrounds, etc, and all hotels are also closed.

Navajo Nation Tribal Parks are closed.

Some US National Park closures: https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/u...ess/index.html

I refuse to watch CNN . Mounds of information on park closing . Very few national parks are open people have flooded the national parks and workers refused to deal with the risk I don’t blame them. I have not heard or seen anything on BLM lands being closed but I suspect the BLM is getting clouded.

NM State parks are closed completely. The 'overnight only' didn't pass the sniff test, lol
We want to go fishing soon and are verifying southern NM closures...

Turns out, any NM state property is closed, meaning some fishing locations stocked by NM game and fish that are not part of the NPS, etc.

California closed all the camping areas in their state parks the other day.

NY state parks are still open, but it isn't really camping season here yet, so there has been no word regarding that. I do know of one (Old Forge) camping facility (hotel & Campground) that was open year round that did close the other day until at least April 1st.

Michigan DNR just sent out an email stating that for the remainder of the "COVID-19 situation" all recreation passport requirements (vehicle pass) for all state park facilities are waived.

For residents, the cost is $12 yearly (vehicles), $6 yearly (motorcycles) or $17 if purchased at the park. Non Resident fees are $9 daily or $32 annual regardless of vehicle class.

Visitors are encouraged to use the facilities to get some "outdoor recreational time" and are reminded to maintain a "safe social distance".

All Illinois State Parks are closed until further notice.

All Iowa Parks are still open for now.

Corps of Engineers Rock Island district (Iowa sites) are closed and campground opening postponed indefinitely.

Most state park campgrounds in both states had not open yet for the season.

Not just for camping, all other activities including reservations.
I have sites booked for June and they might get cancelled on me if Covid-19 continues.

just some additional info on Michigan State Parks. The campgrounds will be open but the bathhouse/toilet facilities will be closed. Any vault toilets will be open.Of course I am assuming the dump stations will be available. So self-contained camping is still a go.

Georgia COE cancelled my reservations for the end of April. Said current plan was to reopen May 1st. We’ll see if that holds true.

The Vicksburg District of the Army Corps of Engineers, which covers MS, AR & LA has closed basically everything.

Bummer, I was hoping to take the DW camping after tax season, which was recently extended from April 15th to July
