Battery system upgrade

I got tired of our 160 ah 12 volt battery bank so I upgraded to 4) 6 volt 232 ah batteries from US Battery giving us 464 ah I mounted them across the front of the trailer in 2 long battery boxes and put a cutoff switch after them and then installed a 250 amp T fuse and hooked up a dedicated battery charger a Boondocker BD-1275-C 75 amp 4 stage charger to better charge the batteries. I then installed a positive distribution block and put another cutoff switch and breaker and put in a old 1000 watt inverter that I had. I also installed a negative distribution block and a 500 amp shunt that I will hook a Trimetric TM-2030Rv battery monitor to.

I would say this setup weighs about 180 lbs more than the 2 batteries that I had in there before. As far as the setup I followed Ray's setup at Love your RV with only a few changes like the battery cutoff switch between the batteries and everything else and the positive distribution block I added that to the setup also.

Nice, what do you have, or plan to have for solar?

Nothing yet for solar, but I would like to get 400-500 watts of panels on the roof and a Trimetric solar charger. Till then I will charge with the Boondocker charger.

Just a quick update on our system we have had 2 camping trips since the install and we can go 3 days using everything but the furnace and not go below 80% on our batteries and when we use the Boondocker charger it will jump right up to 50+ amps right off and then taper off it will still take up to 3 hrs to recharge the batteries if you leave it alone but if you let it go a hr or 2 and then unplug it and wait a few hrs then plug it back in it will jump up to a higher rate then what it was when you were charging before, this will shorten the overall charge time.
