First week of camping for the season issues!

I know I shouldn't have but I took my Dads advice and didn't winterize my Raptor toy hauler last winter.

List of issues first day camping:

1) Hose behind toilet cracked and leaking Fixed
2) Toilet water valve cracked leaking Part ordered
3) Bathroom faucet leaking Fixed
4) Shower handle housing cracked and leaking Part ordered
5) Handle on center reclining couch seat pulled apart parts ordered

Guess who is winterizing their camper this fall!

It's all easy repairs, just not what I wanted to be doing Fathers day camping week.

Also had my roof start to peel back in the top left corner, I taped it up with waterproof tape to make it through the week and get us home.

Now I'm looking at an 8.5 x 10' repair kit to replace or cover the section of roof that was damaged last year.

Anyone ever use one of these kits?

I hope you are billing your Dad for the repairs caused by taking his bad advice.

No, and luckily everything has been pretty cheap. Luckily I travel with a good set of tools, I couldn't imagine someone not mechanically inclined having to pay a shop to fix all this stuff.

I forgot I also had one of the lines in the storage behind the walls come loose at the fitting and start to fill my storage area full of water. Just needed to hand tighten the plastic fitting but these things still are time consuming when your trying to entertain family.

We head back home in the morning and I have a pile of parts standing by thanks to Amazon, should have no issue getting everything replaced before the next outing in a couple weeks.

Winterize your campers even if you don't think (or are told) it won't get cold enough to need it!

Might as well leave ol’ dad out of the equation. Sadly we eventually find out that he isn’t as smart as we once thought he was. Even sadder is I just found out I’m not as smart as I thought I was. A couple of members have reminded me of that recently.
