Carlisle Radial Trail HD in Canada
For Canadians like me who are jealous of our friends south of the border who can get the Carlisle HDs at Walmart for $61US, Fountain Tire has a special on now that they are NOT advertising.
Last week I ordered five 225/75R15 LRD HDs expecting each to cost $129CDN plus balancing and install fees, the best price I could find locally. The HDs were out of stock and arrived yesterday. I took in my spare and two aluminum wheels off one axle and had the HDs installed and balanced today (the other two will be done tomorrow). When I picked up the three new tires this afternoon, I was pleasantly surprised that I received a $25 per tire discount and free balancing. So at $104CDN including balancing, it is cheaper than paying the current exchange rate and gas to take a trip south of the border for the Walmart deal and then having to pay for the install and balancing locally.
The date codes on the tires are weeks 02 & 03 of 2017.
BTW: Originally I was planning on getting Maxxis tires. But I changed my mind because their current stock in Canada (at the Maxxis eStore) is from mid 2015 and a new shipment is not expected until June.
