I regularly get involved in our safety department IDIOT STICKER approval process. They will send out 2-4 designs and see what one gets the point across better. Lawyers get the final vote and it's all their fault to begin with.
If you think about it at our company it probably cost $50,000 or more for each stickers approval. Designers , safety people, test people and lawyers all got to have mutiple meetings. I've sat in meetings bored to death figuring out how much per hour the meeting cost and $1000 per hour isn't unusual

Wow I always imagined the cost of litigation prevention was astounding, but that's ridiculous. Just goes to show you how much the potential cost could be if there were no warning stickers.

Sometimes people are their own worst enemy (and then they contact a lawyer) and the rest of us endure the suffering

Removed 8 more since I started this thread. Maybe they need a sticker that says "do not remove stickers". That tag on furniture cracks me up too "Do not remove this (ugly, sticking out, and hanging down) tag".

I'm thinking those exit stickers need replacing. After all, what if there's an emergency at night?

Gotta love how they made sure to stick all the warning stuff every where but didn't label the all of the valves and inlets in my convenience center (antifreeze inlet, fresh fill/city water valve, etc) Thank goodness for labelmaker and ppl here that helped me sort out what was what.

We are out on our last trip of the year. I hadn't really paid attention to the warning labels all over the stove hood before. But this thread had me more aware. The one I particularly like says that I should keep the privacy curtain away from the stove. Say what?? Maybe some of you have a stove in the bedroom, but my trailer sure didn't come that way.

Steps grab bar
Twice now, we have forgotten to fold in the entrance steps grab bar. No harm, but an inconvenience to have to pull over to fold it in, not to mention how foolish we must look going down the road with it out. I guess we are always so intent on remembering to fold in the steps that we don't think about the handle. I'm making an "Idiot Sticker" for this. Just not sure, yet, where to place it. Maybe on the door latch.

Hmmmm If Keystone were to place it, they'd put it on the Grab Bar..... Oh and while you're making those stickers, how about the TV antenna? Ever leave it up? LOL

So far, we're OK with the antenna. DH always climbs up the ladder and checks out the roof before pulling out. Of course, there'll be the one time he forgets to climb up and check topside I'm thinking I should get a different color of tape for my label maker. Neon yellow, orange, or red. Can't you just see a whole string of stickers on the door

The only reason I "know" of the problem is, like you, I've had my share of walking out of a rest area bathroom and noticing something "flying" about 3' above my roof or looking in the passenger's side mirror and seeing some "strange looking" white hoop sticking out of the side of the trailer....
Going across the Mackinaw bridge this summer, we got hit by a huge HUGE gust of wind up toward the top (about 150' above the water) and it blew the trailer door open. I hadn't locked the deadbolt, just the top lock and suddenly we were faced with a trailer door on a gas piston closer that was stuck open and we were in a "no stopping" zone for another 3 miles or so. Once we paid our toll and got off the bridge, the first thing I did was check to see what had blown out (nothing thankfully) and locked the door and deadbolt and moved the assist handle from the "against the trailer" position to the "Over the door" position I'm not thinking I need a warning sticker to remember that one !!!

Great Idea
Why didn't I think of this?
Much better than a warning sticker!

I have read this with interest and my question is. Why doesn't anyone use a check off-list?
We have five different ones; one for packing the camper up with food and misc items that get stored at home. The second one is for setting up the camper when we arrive at the site; the third one is for breaking down the camper and towing out of the site. The four and fifth are for winterizing and de-winterizing the camper.
I store them on the computer and print them out when needed cheaper and less messy; since the tow vehicle is also used for driving around site seeing.

We have similar lists for packing, getting ready to tow and setting up. They do come in handy and help relieve any worries related to forgetfulness. I still find reminders are nice for things such as opening the cooktop exhaust vent (sometimes we close it when not in use because it will rattle in the wind), retracting the awning (when not a function of setting up), and other things you might need reminders for during camping.
I just thought of another. I'm sure everyone has experienced surprises when opening the fridge for the first time after travel I need a sticker on the door to remind me to "Open with Caution".
