Warning Stickers

Kinda like a mod. Removed 27 sticker on the new trailer, from warning stickers to window manufacturer, left the flush, black, grey, and manufacturer data one on and that's it.

I did the same to mine. The one that amazed me the most was the "Exit" sticker over the door. 28 feet of trailer and only 2 doors in the trailer, and this was the only one on an outer wall.

With the exception of the sticker on the metal cover to the stove, all of them came off easy enough.

The Exit sticker is called lawsuit prevention. There are actually people who would sue claiming they couldn't find the door in a one door trailer. Even sadder is that these same people are even out there operating motor vehicles.

Unreal how many stickers and where they put them. I spent about an hour on our new raptor removing stickers. But they do come off easy.

Most of them are designed to come off easily. Many manufacturers realize that the stickers create an "industrial" decor in an RV that should be a "home" decor. But, they are pretty much "forced" to protect themselves by following RVIA guidelines in how they build and identify safety requirements in our RV. Most of those safety decals are a requirement and the manufacturers either comply and put them there or they can't attach the RVIA certificate. Without that certificate in place, the manufacturer would face problems selling in some states, you'd have problems getting financing and registering your RV in many localities.

So, the "answer" for most manufacturers is using decals with "sticky note" type of adhesive so the end buyer can remove the unwanted decals and the manufacturer can still claim that they were there when the unit was sold.... This protects them from being implicated in a lawsuit by the "stupid people" that Bob talked about.

I thought I might get "flamed" for removing stickers. The dealer removed Keystones tire cover and put their own on, and since they don't pay me to advertise I was going to remove it, but the goof off just made a sunset instead!

You won't get flamed for removing stickers that you find "objectionable" from your private RV. Now, I wonder if I use Goof-Off on my "Brewbaker's RV) spare tire cover if I'll get a Sunset

Hmmm

I didn't even realize that people took these off...or that they came off easily. One more thing to add to the list.

Yep, I am all cleaned up of ugly stickers too. Fascinating as to how many stickers Keystone felt the need to stick in various places throughout.

Talking Way to go!

This post has inspired me to finally remove the atrocious EXIT sticker which had adorned my bedroom window for over three years.

It did not relinquish willingly. It had become brittle and cracked by uv exposure. I had to use a screwdriver to scrape and expose the adhesive layer, which fortunately came off using some isopropyl alcohol.

A final pass with Windex, and the view of the world from my bed has been vastly improved.

Just removed all of the ”manual blind” stickers from our blinds a couple of days ago. W/o the stickers do ppl look for the electric switch to lower their blinds? #shakinghead

Tip - goo residue can be easily removed with paper towel and lighter fluid. Note: some inks and dyes will run with lighter fluid, always spot test.

I have to add that I have removed these stickers, as well, but have added a few of my own. I print them with my label maker. I have one to remind me to open the catches on the outside louvers of the stove ventilator fan and another on the main control panel reminding DH to unlock the awning arms before retracting it.

I thought I had all my decals removed until I was on the roof and discovered one more dealer decal at the very top of the nose cone! Are they expecting a flyover or is this the "little birdie told me" advertisement!! geesh...

Ugly Stickers

I got rid of all of the graphics. The were looking awful peeling off. I still kept a few of the stickers I thought might be useful.

This is a 2009 Raptor RP299.

I like the "generic" look! Gutsy move Some of the graphics on these rigs are a little overboard.
