Adding batteries to my fuzion 342

I have a fuzion 342 and am trying to figure out how I can find space to add two more batteries. I currently have an inverter installed as well as solar but would like more battery capacity. Has any one done this. Thanks!

Dave

We replaced the 12 volt battery with a 6 volt and then added 3 more 6 volt batteries in the underbelly storage compartment in the tray next to the original battery, seems to work pretty good in our 375.

Thanks for the reply. What did you do about ventilation.

Here's how I setup my 2013 Raptor 381. Not sure if your battery compartment is similar.

Nice add on the batteries

Where do you have the batteries vented to? I assume the first picture shows the two vents just don't see where they go.

Yeah those are the stock vent hoses that go to a couple of vents just above the compartment door. There are also two vent/drain holes that are open to the ground beneath the trailer. I just copied the stock setup, but with one big enclosure instead of two small ones.

Thanks. We dry camp in the desert 99% of the time. I'm hoping the 4-t105's will keep up with my Magnum MS2012 inverter.

I have a 342 also and as soon as I get some time or my current 12v batteries die I plan on replacing with 6v. The original tray really only has room for 2 batteries. I replaced one of the original 24 series with a 27. With a little bit of welding directly below the original batteries you can easily make room for another 3 batteries. There is plenty of room in the underbelly storage area but I like to save that space for other things, plus if you use the original battery space you don't have to do any additional venting as it is open to the ground.

I actually was able to fit 3 batteries in the top tray and added a tray underneath for the 4th battery. Works great.

I have done something similar to my Fuzion 405. The top tray will hold 3 batteries -there I have two 6 volt and a single 12 volt which is isolated to start my gen set only.

Below the top tray, I have fabricated another which holds an additional two 6 volt batteries.

Also have a 130 watt solar panel to keep the batteries charged when not plugged into shore power.
