I'm just gonna start listing them. No special order, just as they come to mind.

Pacific War Museum in Frederickburg Texas
USS Texas Battleship near Houston
The Alamo
Custer State Park in South Dakota
The Radio Museum in Huntingdon, West VA - This is fantastic for sparkys
Crazy Horse monument and cultural center near Rapid City, SD
Buffalo Bill museum in Cody, WYo
USS Nautilus- museum and Submarine center in Groton, CT
Gettysburg - My Great Grandfather and his brother fought there.
Flight 93 memorial in Shanksville, Pa
Homer Laughlin China in Chester West Va - Call ahead for tour
Minuteman and Air Force museum and Lewis & Clark center in Great Falls, Montana

Little Big Horn
Beal Street in Memphis
USS Batfish WWII submarine in Muskogee OK - yes, a submarine in Oklahoma
Chicago Museum of Science and Industry
The Vietnam wall in Washington DC
Roy Orbison museum in Wink Texas,
Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake Iowa - Last place Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper played
Buddy Holly center in Lubbock, Texas
Every quilt material shop along the way to the above places
