Did it!!!!
Broke down and traded my 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 extended cab for a 2012 Silverado crew cab 2500HD WT 4x4 yesterday. Love my new truck can't wait to pull my 2010 Passport 300BH with it.

Good choice. Even though I have an 02 it only has 29,000 miles on it. Tows my 3220BH just fine. No issues. Gets up in the RPMs for some of the bigger hills but that is what is is designed to do.

I have the identical truck, just a 2010 GMC. Mine also has the snow plow prep which I think gives heavier front torsion bars and more openings in the grill for air flow. My daily driving is country and a little bit of small town. I average just over 14 mpg. Just returned from a 2000 mile trip to Disney and back towing my 8000 lb Laredo 291, averaged 7.4 mpg. I'm in Ohio so that was towing thru the hills of Kentucky and Tennessee. So, with only a 26 gallon tank and not wanting to let it get below 1/4 tank, you get to stretch your legs every couple of hours. Not such a bad thing with 2 kids in the truck. As for the daily mpg, your driving habits can make a big difference. I keep the avg mpg up on the DIC, make it a challenge every tank to get it as high as possible. If you bought the truck used, might try disconnecting the battery for an hour or so. This will reset the computer in the transmission to factory. I had a couple little issues with mine when I bought used because the transmission "learns" how you drive. Apparently I drive quite different from the first owner.

laredo2910H. I picked mine up new with 38 miles on it. Taking it to Hot Springs, Arkansas then Flagstaff and Page, Arizona then Riverside, Calif. and back this month. This will be interesting with both grandkids along for the ride. We will be visiting family at all the stops.

Increase your mpg on a 6.0
Ive owned 6.0 L GMC for many years. The best thing I've ever done in terms of mods... Exhaust upgrade. I'm not talking louder, but more flow increase diamete. My mileage went for 10 mpg at best when towing , living in theRockies, to 17 mpg. And I promise you I'm not light on the throttle.
Be aware that the 6 L engines are notorious for the exhaust manifold cracking, install a higher flow manifold when it does.....

That is an amazing mileage increase. Please provide more specific information on things like brand, which components you installed, mileage on truck at installation, miles on truck now and current mileage figures... Thanks
