Front Galley gray tank wont drain

On our 2016 montana our front (kitchen sink) wont drain. I have checked the "P" trap and ran a snake (25ft) down the line and felt no resistance. We re super careful to not allow anything down thw sink. the black and other gray drain fine. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance. T.J

What George said ..... you most likely have another dump valve and possibly sewer outlet somewhere.

Front Galley gray tank

It sounds like you are describing the new version of the Montana 3820FK. I would assume you are aware of the valve drain handle up front for the kitchen. It would be very close to being in the area of your sink location in the first black box at the water station. I usually pull that handle first because it has a long run to the back where the gray and black handles are for the bathroom. I mention the obvious only because sometimes mine won't empty completely as reflected with a single digit on the digital display. I figure it may be the front end height and some amount of water stays in the tank.

Frozen?

We have the same Montana (FK) and having the same issue. Gauge says tank is full. Pulled valve in front and nothing happening. Temps have been below freezing for 5 days. Could that be the issue? I have the tank heaters on but wondering if kitchen gray tank really has heater. There are three switches but four holding tanks; fresh, black, main gray and kitchen gray. Thoughts?

I would not believe those tank gauges!! I assume you are concerned because you know you have been using facilities draining into that tank and have not emptied it for a while? Since you did not mention that other tanks were not draining, I would not think tank freezing would be only a concern on this tank, unless the heater on that tank is not working ??? If you have a power monitoring system on booard you could monitor the current as the tank heater switch(s) are turned on and off. I am assuming heaters on these large tanks draw a considerable amount of current? Just my 2 cents or less

I'm a little confused (perhaps it's my old age). The subject said gray tank won't drain but it sounds like the sink isn't draining into the tank from the body of the post. In any event the responders are giving sound advice, I would add to check the vent as a blocked or improperly installed vent can create a positive pressure in the tank and lines creating a sink to drain slowly.

Those tank level lights? Well if your old enough to remember the TV show Knight Rider with the Trans AM (flashing lights in the hood) I think they both serve the same usefulness.

Good suggestions all! I'm betting the gauges are as fine as the gauges in our Raptor..... I'm also betting OP will never check in with the final answer.

I say it is to bad that some post on here a question to a problem. Needing answers. Than many times never return with the fix they found or say thanks. I find that the answers to many questions seem to be great advice. By checking back in can save the next guy who has that problem with the correct fix. But, maybe that is asking to much.
